What is a PTA?

The PTA, or the Parent Teacher Association, is a team of families, students, teachers and administrators devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools. In Lawndale, the PTA plans, operates and funds many extracurricular activities at the schools.  For instance, the PTA sponsors and organizes activities, such as fun runs or multi-cultural nights, plans fundraisers and community events, such as Movie Nights or Readathons, and it funds field trips and assemblies.
